CWA 4502 has a history of service to the professional employees of the City of Columbus, who work together to enhance the quality of life of the people who live, work and raise families here. We are proud to offer the skills and technical expertise that allows Columbus to operate efficiently and transparently. Our public service is a calling and a sacrifice that greatly improves the lives of the citizens we serve.
We feel a solidarity, a close connection, with our brothers and sisters in the Communications Workers of America and the AFL-CIO. We stand together to support workers’ rights and provide outstanding service to the people of Central Ohio.
Janus VS AFSCME Bus Trip to Washington DC
Bus Trip Information:
11:45 pm on Sunday 2/25/18 - Parking is set for Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 720 East Broad Street Columbus Ohio 43203 (a few blocks east of our union hall) . Plan on arriving around 11:45PM on Sunday 2/25/18. We hope to be on the road by midnight!
Midnight Sunday February 25 - Bus leaves Columbus, Ohio (bring your own food, drinks, snacks,
pillows, blankets). The bus has restrooms but will also stop at least 2 times for us
to stretch our legs) and yes you can leave your items on the bus!
9:00 am Monday Feb 26 - We arrive as close as possible to the Supreme Court House; we may have to walk up to six blocks.
9:00 am Monday Feb 26 - Arguments Start in the Janus
vs AFSCME and is expected to last about 2 hours. This union busting case is an attempt to defund unions and squelch the voice of middle class and working families. View the Brief.
9:00 - 11 am - we will be protesting on the sidewalk of the Supreme
Court House (we cannot be on the steps).
11:00 am - 6:45pm - you will be on your own
to do what you like!
7:00 pm Monday - bus will depart DC to Columbus Ohio,
ETA to arrive where we parked cars 2:00 ~ 4:00am.

A Working People's Day of Action
Join us on Saturday Feb. 24 for A Working People's Day of Action to be held at the Ohio State House from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. CWA4502 is providing a shuttle from our facility to the state house beginning at 10:30 am to approx. 11:00 am for our members and family/guest. Parking at our facility is free and is first come first served.

AFSCME Care Plan for Hearing Aids - NOTE: We negotiated this benefit in our bargaining process, but you must enroll in the program - enrollment forms will be mailed to your home soon. Please do so by filling out and returning it so that if you (or a family member) needs the service later, you are enrolled. It is open to both AFSCME and CWA bargaining units. It covers $1,500 per ear every four years. The Claim Form can be used in the interim. View the Plan Details.

We are asking all members to support Stand Up for Ohio, a group started by CWA that supports worker rights. It only cost $5 a year for members and, the board voted to pay each members' first year dues. Joining CWA local 4502 has many benefits and no additional costs. Most importantly, it will allow you to vote on contracts and important issues, giving you a true voice in the membership. Only members receive certain benefits like eligibility for our scholarship program for your children. There is strength in membership. The greater the portion of eligible employees who become full members, the greater our show of strength and solidarity is.
